Do you have basic experience of using herbal medicine, but want to dive deeper?

Join us for this ONLINE class on the Introduction Case Studies & Formulation. We will learn herbal intake skills & basic clinical research, as well as formulating for specific body types and conditions. This course brings all the knowledge you have learned through the whole program together into a final project.

Each week, we go through the different aspects of herbal intakes, researching, formulating, and fine tuning formulas for the individual's body types. The last day of class you will present your "case study" in a clinical round table where you can get feedback from your teacher & peers and walk away with a comprehensive wellness plan for a friend or family member.

In this class you will learn:

  • The key principles of conducting an herbal intake & clinical research
  • The fundamentals of herbal formulation for specific conditions
  • The energetic effects of the 5 flavors, and how they affect different body types
  • How to develop a wellness plan using lifestyle, nutrition, and herbs as therapeutic suggestions

Jiling Lin, L.Ac.

Jiling Lin is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac), herbalist, and yoga teacher in Ventura, CA. She reconnects the wilderness of our human spirits with our wild Earth to nourish environmental stewardship through embodied classes, clinics and holistic resources. Jiling breathes classical Chinese Medicine to life through contemplative practices, creative improvisation, ritual and nature connection. She regularly writes for Mountain Rose Herbs, and directs “Tea Talks with Jiling” on the Herbal Radio podcast. She apprenticed with 7song at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, studied at the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism, then graduated with a Master’s of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (M.S.AOM) from Alhambra Medical University. Between running her clinical practice and teaching globally, Jiling loves backpacking, surfing, climbing and playing in wild places with reverent gratitude.

What if I miss the live class?
Anyone who registers for the class will be given access to the online class portal. All class recordings will be available to watch anytime. Class notes and hand outs will also be posted online, so no matter what, you won’t miss anything! If you work during the day, and still want the live support and coaching from a teacher, don’t worry! We have a live drop in office hour 1 evening each week so you can still ask questions and get feedback throughout the entire course.
How long do I have access to the course?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
Who is this course for?
Students should be co-enrolled in "Herbs for the Body" or the "Herbal Apprentice Program" to take this course. However, other previous herbal training or private study is may suffice. Please contact [email protected] for inquiries.
What do I need?
During this class you will need a small taste of a few basic kitchen herbs that can be found at any supermarket. A complete supply list will be given out upon enrollment to the course. There are no required books to purchase for this class. You will need a computer with streaming video and recording capability, a pair of headphone, the zoom app downloaded on your device, and your enthusiasm to show up and learn!

This is an live online class using Zoom, and is a part of Artemisia Academy's Herbal Apprentice Program. Recordings of the class will be made available after the class. Late sign-ups can stream the videos of past classes then join us for the online classes.
